Open Studios 2008

Each year Open Studios gives you the chance to visit artists in their
studio. You can talk to them about art, see the way they work and
perhaps discuss techniques. Combined with this you also have the
opportunity to purchase original artworks directly from the artist or
commission that specific piece you have been looking for.

Open Studios is now a nationally recognised way for artists to engage
with the public and its success continues to grow. This year’s event is the
11th consecutive year of running and shows the underlying grass roots
support for the arts in Colchester.

Please do take the time to visit the artists’ studios — I am sure you will be
enlightened and entertained.

Special thanks go to Kath Wood and firstsite who have made this year’s
event possible.

Minibus tours from outside the Minories

Tours will leave from outside the entrance to firstsite:newsite at the end
of Colchester High Street on 3 Sundays of this event and travel to:
14 September · Cuckoo Farm Studios
21 September · Wivenhoe
28 September · Harwich

Spaces are limited on these tours, so please ring firstsite t 01206 577067
to book your seat in advance.
Buses will leave at 10.45 sharp and should return at approximately 5pm.

Please note that short walks will be necessary to get to some studios.
Bring a packed lunch.
